You are engaged! That’s great news so why not share it? Don’t forget to tell your parents and family first, there is nothing worse than those closest to you hearing it from someone else. Email is the usual source of communication now but the traditional way of placing a classified advertisement into your local/national paper is a lovely way for many people to view your news and it’s a lovely memento (even something to scrapbook if that is your thing).
If you are keen on having one an engagement party soon after your announcement is best. It is a good idea not to make this event too ‘wedding like’ as it pays to build up to the main event.
If you have been lucky enough to receive an engagement ring you should definitely check with your insurer that it will be covered under your existing insurance policy. If not, alter it! Talking of alterations, make sure your ring fits properly, so that it will not slide off in any circumstance!
Once the excitement of your engagement has reduced slightly it is time to start making some big decisions. The main ones being – the wedding date and the wedding budget.
